Additional Issuer Rules
The U.S. Bank Secured Visa® Card is designed for applicants with no credit history, limited credit, or damaged credit who need to build or rebuild their credit profile; it requires a refundable security deposit of $300–$5,000 as collateral and carries no welcome bonus or spend requirements. U.S. Bank generally limits cardholders to approximately 4 concurrent personal credit cards; however, the Secured Visa is specifically targeted at applicants who may not qualify for unsecured products and is not subject to the same competitive card restrictions that apply to premium rewards cards. Responsible account management — including on-time payments and low utilization — may make the cardholder eligible for an automatic review for upgrade to an unsecured U.S. Bank credit card, at which point the security deposit is returned.
