Additional Issuer Rules

The Gap Good Rewards Mastercard welcome bonus (20% off first purchase) can only be earned once per program; applicants who currently hold or previously had an account in this program are not eligible for the bonus. Community data from frequentmiler.com and doctor of credit indicate Barclays generally requires waiting at least 6 months after closing a prior Gap card account before the bonus can be earned again, though some accounts require 24 months. The card currently does not offer a points-based welcome bonus beyond the first-purchase discount, and applicants who do not qualify for the Mastercard are automatically considered for the closed-loop Gap store card version.
